Amanda Jarrold
How can I help?
I have a breadth of experience working with a range of issues that include trauma and attachment, historical sexual abuse, domestic violence, anxiety & depression, gender issues, sexuality, addictions, relationships, adoption, bereavement, work-related issues, self-harm, & eating disorders.
I am passionate about delivering an effective ethical practice in a non-judgemental, genuine way that respects and honours individual suffering and feel privileged to have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others.
You can expect from me understanding, acceptance, and honesty, the willingness to work with you at your own pace, to your own agenda. I can provide a compassionate, relational approach to working with your emotions and the rest can be up to you.
What kind of counselling do I provide?
I am an Integrative counsellor with experience of working with both private clients and clients within NHS, EAP, Private and Statutory sectors. The Integrative approach I offer embraces a Humanistic Relational perspective, believing in the individual’s capacity to grow, change and heal through a positive therapeutic relationship. I aim to provide a safe confidential space in which to explore difficulties, issues and concerns for genuine change to occur.
I hold a special interest in working with relational trauma and attachment, with individuals. This is reflected in my Continuous Professional Development training which includes Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, EMDR and Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM – wwww.comprehensiveresourcemodel.com).
How many sessions do I need?
That’s entirely up to you. You can come to your first session and decide that you’ve managed to come to a resolution about what was troubling you, or you may decide to embark on longer-term therapy, or something in between! There is no obligation and we will agree between us how you would like to proceed, this agreement will then be regularly reviewed to ensure that you’re getting the most out of your investment of time and money.
How much does it cost?
Each Hull-based counselling session for private clients lasts for 1 hour and the cost is £60. I accept cash, bank transfer or credit/debit card. EAP work can be undertaken from £65 per session, please enquire for further details.
What’s the next step?
